Privacy Policy

RETA (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the RETA mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Birthday and gender (optional, provided during onboarding)
  • Authentication credentials via your chosen sign-in method (Apple, Google, or email/password)

Health & Treatment Data

To provide our tracking services, we collect data you voluntarily enter:

  • Weight entries: Weight value, unit (lbs/kg), and date
  • Dose logs: Date, amount (mg), injection site, and optional notes
  • Side effect logs: Date, severity ratings for nausea, fatigue, constipation, diarrhea, decreased appetite, headache, and dizziness, plus optional notes
  • Nutrition entries: Date, calories, protein, carbs, fat, and water intake
  • Profile data: Starting weight, target weight, height, activity level, workout frequency, and workout intensity

Apple HealthKit Data

With your explicit permission, the App may read the following data from Apple Health: body mass (weight), step count, and active energy burned. The App may also write weight entries to Apple Health to keep your data in sync. We do not store HealthKit data on our servers — it is only used locally on your device.

Device & Usage Information

We may collect basic device information (device type, operating system version) and usage analytics to improve the App. We do not collect precise location data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App’s tracking and visualization features
  • Authenticate your identity and secure your account
  • Send you dose reminders and weekly check-in notifications (with your permission)
  • Personalize your experience based on your goals and activity level
  • Generate progress charts and insights from your tracking data

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore, which provides encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Your data is organized under your unique user ID and is only accessible by you through authenticated access. We use Firebase Authentication to verify your identity.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google) — for secure sign-in and account management
  • Firebase Firestore (Google) — for cloud data storage and sync
  • Sign in with Apple (Apple) — for Apple ID authentication
  • Google Sign-In (Google) — for Google account authentication
  • Apple Push Notification Service — for dose reminders

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share your health or treatment data with anyone. Your data is yours.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete all your tracking data at any time from the Settings page using the “Clear All Data” option. You can also delete your entire account, which permanently removes all associated data from our servers, including your profile, dose logs, weight entries, side effect logs, and nutrition entries.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and export your data
  • Correct inaccurate information via the Settings page
  • Delete your data or your entire account at any time
  • Opt out of push notifications in your device Settings
  • Revoke HealthKit permissions at any time in your device Settings

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
